Post; Four Sweedish Soldiers Killed in Helicopter Crash, in Sweeden...

Quote:
TWO military helicopters collided during a national guard exercise in the south of Sweden, killing all four people on board, Swedish police spokesman Robert Loeffel said.
The two helicopters, which each carried a pilot and a navigator, belonged to a helicopter base in Linkoping and were part of the F 17 regiment in Ronneby, the military said.
“When the rescuers arrived at the scene there was nothing to do. All four were deceased,” Mr Loeffel said.
The helicopters were both German-produced MBB BO 105 CB-3s, which the Swedish military calls Helicopter 9, according to the Swedish military's website.
The site says they were long used as anti-tank helicopters but are now mainly used as transport helicopters.

It's bad enough when soldiers gets killed in war, but it's a real tragedy when it happens in an exercise like this...

RIP. Even in peace it's not an entirely safe occupation.

To train for war we all take risks, but no one ever expects it to happen to them. Our thoughts are with their families and friends.

These crews were no strange faces in our mess.

Their positive attitude and intestinal fortitude will be soarly missed within our ranks.

Clear skies brothers.
