Distinguishing Characteristics

• Founded in 1879, FMS is the oldest and smallest of Virginia's Military Schools
• 100% college acceptance for graduates for the past five consecutive years
• Class size average is 10 cadets per instructor (range is from 5-12)
• As an Army JROTC Honor Unit With Distinction (since the 1928-29 school year), Fishburne can nominate qualified Cadets to any of the US Service Academies
• Twelve different varsity sports along with extra-curricular activities, weekend trips and regular dances at other private schools all combine to ensure positive outlets for young men and a well-rounded college preparatory experience
