I learned to shoot with my Remington 514 .22 bolt action single shot. I got it at 10 years old and still have it.

I used this Marlin model 60 .22 semi-auto for years when I squirrel hunted. Later, I added a scope and use it for plinking. It's never jammed or misfired and it's cheap. I've seen Remington autos jam while hunting with a friend and this little rifle just kept on firing.

This is my fun gun, Ruger Super Single Six convertible to .22 magnum, 6.5 inch barrel.

Another favorite plinker, Stoeger .22 LR Luger.

All good first guns to learn with and just plain fun when you get older.

What ever you decide to get, don't be a fool with it. Everytime you pick it up fresh, clear it. Also everytime you want to clean it.

I meant did you own or still own that type of firearm? So you had a standard military AP M70 ab2 as your first firearm. Was it your own personal firearm or was it something issued to you?

There are many accessories and add ons that you can get for it. Also if you ever decide to resale it you will not get all of your money back but you will make a nice sum.

I second this motion in a heartbeat for a beginning shooter.
