Underlying issue is UAV does not risk a human life nor the life of the pilot. They are cheaper than fighters. I don't know that they will completely replace fighters, but the economics of war can be a bitch.

In the bombing and surveillance roles then UAVs are probably going to take over, but asfor fighters that will take longer.

I guess in the future when UAVs probably take over, no-one is going tro have been in a fighter so they wont be missed, my generation could be the last or one of the last to ever fly fighters in wartime.

I think it will take a while for UAV's to even come close to the effectiveness of a fighter in a dog fight. I'd love to see a predator go up agains an F-16.
