There has been a few Mock engagements between the US and Canadian Amour Units. The Leo seemed to work extremely well and had 8 out of 10 kills against the Abrams. The Canadian use the Abrams for one drill and they won again.

The Leo II is the world top Main Battle Tank.

I can't dispute the Leopard II as the superior main battle tank. It's simply got the whole package; speed, firepower, protection.

Another tank that has excellent speed is the Ukranian T-84 Oplot, it might be worthy of adding to your list.

A couple things to note about those pictures: in both pictures, the gun is over the back deck. That is standard bail out procedure, so the driver can get out. They obviously had time to get out before it caught fire. Judging by the extent of the damage, I would guess the tank in the upper picture was probably hit by an airstrike. There's just too much damage for it to be from a fire.
