If I am asked what we are fighting for, I can reply in two sentences. In the first place, to fulfil a solemn international obligation . . . an obligation of honor which no self-respecting man could possibly have repudiated. I say, secondly, we are fighting to vindicate the principle that small nationalities are not to be crushed in defiance of international good faith at the arbitrary will of a strong and overmastering Power.

After 70 odd years I could fill up a couple pages of great movies. I think the sign of a good movie is the impression it leaves on you over the years. Some of these Movies when you see them many years later you often wonder just what you saw in them, and some of the others are as great with the passing of time as they were the first time you saw them.

If you had just looked a little farther down the lists of threads in this forum you would have seen that this topic already exists. I didn't even have to do a search. It's 3/4 of the way down on the list.

Under this criteria I would list the following:
El Cid
Saving Private Ryan
Band of Brothers
Dr Zhivago
The Godfather series
Patton
