Favorite War Era Aircraft.

As for carrier aircraft,I suppose I forgot to mention another favorite the F6F, most certainly one of the the best carrier fighters of this period.

She does look all business however.
 
the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt, because it's arguably the best fighter-bomber of WW2.

One of the first RAF pilots to fly the Jug was asked "What about taking evasive action in it?"
His reply was: "Simple, undo your harness, and run around the cockpit!"
She is a big beast!
 
FW-190-A5 for me. A couple of spare BMW 801's laying around would help.

As far as the jet age F-106, tuck them both in the garage.
 
Hmm, jet age planes? Well for the 1950s I've always kinda liked the de Havilland Sea Vixen, even with it's off-centre canopy.
