| Milites Gregarius | Post; Favorite Military Aircraft.....I am just curious to know what you favorite military aircraft is...fighter, bomber, cargo, etc... My favorite is the C-5. I know allot of you don't like it because they do break down allot, but this plane goes against the law of physics. It's just NOT suppose to fly! If you have ever been on board and see how much cargo and weight this beautiful piece of flying machinery can carry it is just awesome. I have worked on all types of military planes over my years and I have just fallen in love with this plane. It just AWESOME to see it fully maxed out on weight and fuel load and watch her get off the ground. What do you guys think?

| Milites Gregarius | WWII era: P-38 lightning (lockheed) B-24 liberator (ford) (D models) Korea era: B-36 peacemaker (convair) In between era: F-104 starfighter (lockheed) Vietnam: A1E skyraider (douglas) B-52 stratofortress (boeing) F-4 phantom II (mcdonnell) after that: F14 tomcat (grumman) F15 eagle (mcdonnell) B-52 stratofortress (boeing) SR-71 blackbird (lockheed) AC-130 and C-130 hercules (lockheed) the SR-71 is probably number one especially since i directly supported it and the mission for the first 5 years i was in the air force. even worked on it (albeit unofficially) and sat in one while it was still on active duty... david united states air force 1985-1993
