infamous you mean. its publicish land. they demand credentials in archaeology. the application to explore is on the http://www.cimec.ro homepage. if you were crazy, you could probably pick the land up insanely cheap.

i would say it might be very very unpopular there amongst a large group of people however.

why couldn't you investigate it further, if its a good bet, go for it and i'll disappear.

its a lifelong career tackling this. you would certainly be famous, and potentially very wealthy. is there a professor of history at your school that seems really keen on history? there's your partner.

there is no risk in talking to professionals. you'll know from their reaction if its worth pursuing. don't risk your money, risk your time.

here are your basic facts..

its 3.5milesx2.5miles or 5000acres which is as big as rome or constantinople
the inner ditch and bank earthworks are 300feet in cross section
its not on the official government list of archaeological sites in romania
it appears on an 1836 map as roman earthworks

if that doesn't get their attention then they are deceased.

well it is a large unknown ancient city, maybe claiming its troy would get some attention because noone seems to care otherwise.
