The F-22 is superior to the F-15, which has no equal. It's just superfluous to our current military needs. But, having them is handy. We may end up needing them someday.

Isn't this the second time around for this article? It seems very familiar.

Maybe it is, im not sure. Though im pretty sure this isnt the only article that denounces the F-22. Still an interesting read. |

Although the goal of the F-22 was to replace the F-15, I just never thought that would be realistic. I think the more realistic approach is to have the F-35 replace both the F-16 and F-15 and use the F-22 like an F-117 that is also fighter capable (i.e. a special purpose combat aircraft). As for the maintenance problems etc., I'm sure they'll be able to iron them out. |

Of course, they will be capable of making the F-22 able to fly for TWO HOURS without malfunctioning! A major milestone in USAF history, that would be. |

It's at a whole new level of technological sophistication. It'll take some time to iron out.

Who said they will be able to iron it out? F-35 > F-22
