At the time approaching the end of the Iran-Iraq war years 1980-1988, Iran began using sea mines and Silkworm missile to disrupt lines ship tankers passing through the Cape Hormuz and the Persian Gulf. Kuwait is concerned, lobbying the United States that may own the eleven tankers sail with the United States flag.
