Post; A doubt about the "EL ALAMO" movie... the one directed by John Wayne.

Hi, I saw the week before the wonderful film EL ALAMO, directed by John Wayne, and I'd like to know what kind of rifle used Richard Widmark (Jim Bowie) on that film. Does it exist? Or was that weapon just created for the sake of the film?

Thanks.

That is not what you could consider a common film. If you have the DVD, could you post an image of the rifle in question? It would help a lot.

Dean.

Here's one pic:

If you cannot see it, the link is: http://www.johnwaynebirthplace.org/i...-The_Alamo.jpg

Richard Widmark is the one at the left.
P.S: Thank you very much for your help, Bulldog. Though your pic was not from the movie I was talking about, I apreciate very much your kindness.
