(chorus) My buddy's in a foxhole, A bullet in his head, The medic says he is wounded, But I know that he's dead (chorus) I ran to tell the CO About my buddy's head But when I got there, The CO was dead (chorus) And now the battle's over, and smoke is all around. We wanted to go home, But we're six feet underground.
