| | The oath to serve my country as a soldier did not include a contract for the normal luxuries and comfort enjoyed within our society. On the contrary it implied hardship, loyalty and devotion to duty regardless of rank. |

+1 what 03 and 13th have to say and agree fully. "Our politicians do not serve us; they serve the multinational corporations that pay them. It's time to change that. Let's end the corporate takeover of our government." — Cenk Uygur | |

I think 03 must be getting with the swing of it already, he hasn't exploded or imploded like he would have done a few weeks back. I think he's gone off to have a good cry and a little lay down.

Which makes me wonder... what kind of society will we have when we have no agreement on what is acceptable and what is not? It's a very serious question when you realize that society is built on rules about the acceptable and the unacceptable. (Bracing for a Henderson soap box speech about society being built on the will and love of people). Are we headed to a place where there is no right and wrong? What we'll have then is anarchy. |

Thats just it. We have toe the PC line or we risk offending the PC brigade. And then we get hear how awful we are because our values and view points don't mesh with the views they want us to hold.

One reason that homosexuals are eventually going to serve openly in the military is the number of states legalizing Same Sex marriages. New York will probably do it this week. But what about the Defense of Family Act? Granted, that said that States didn't have to honor Same Sex marriages from other States and that the Federal Government would not. Well, a Federal Court has already found that to be unconstitutional. The Supreme Court will probably hear it on appeal eventually. But that will lead to the military having to treat the spouses of Same Sex marriages the same as another other marriage at some point. That's the way the ball is rolling. |

13... No worries. No rants from me... There's no point.... Hell, I'm surprised I even get responses to my posts on this forum anymore. Forget what anyone says about this place being unbiased and fair... It's painted as red as a bottle of Coke.
