Yaacov Lozowick, archival director at Yad Vashem (Israel's Holocaust memorial and study center), calls out University of Michigan professor and polemicist Juan Cole on his willful historical inaccuracies and tendentious logic.
A must read.
It gives some insight about why both Yale and Duke Universities rejected Cole, on the basis that the political popularity of his blog did not substitute for his consistently weak and error-ridden academic process. It's one thing to be prolific; it's quite another to be prolifically wrong and intolerant to correction and debate.
