HAPPINESS IS . . .
Infantry: A good rifle
Armoured: A big tank
Artillery: A loud boom

UPON HEARING FIREWORKS
Infantry: Cool, just like a live fire excercise
Armoured: Not loud enough
Artillery: Fireworks? What fireworks?

OTHER TRADES
Infantry: Waste of rations
Armoured: Waste of rations
Artillery: Waste of rations

IDEA OF FUN
Infantry: Not having to "pepper-pot" an entire grid square before the objective
Armoured: Racing across a grid square on "full stab"
Artillery: Levelling a grid square

FAVOURITE SONG
Infantry: "Ballad of the Green Beret"
Armoured: "Purple Haze"
Artillery: Anything, just play it LOUD!

BIGGEST LUXURY IN THE FIELD
Infantry: Engineers blowing trenches for them with C4
Armoured: Grunts to dig their trenches for them
Artillery: Cable

A LONG ROUTE MARCH WITH FULL KIT
Infantry: 20 clicks
Armoured: From the hangars to the tank
Artillery: What's a route march?

OFFICERS
Infantry: Are morons and should stay away from the trenchlines
Armoured: Are morons and should stay out of the vehicles
Artillery: Are morons and should stay away from the gun lines

FAVOURITE MODE OF TRANSPORTATION
Infantry: Anything but walking
Armoured: Tanks. Tanks. Tanks. TankstankstankstanksTANKS!
Artillery: Don't you have to move around to require transport?

BIGGEST ***** IN THE FIELD
Infantry: The weather
Armoured: Coffee maker in tank not working
Artillery: Only having basic cable

BREAKFAST IN THE FIELD
Infantry: I don't care what it is, just so long as I can sit down to eat it
Armoured: Hot coffee and rum with a beer chaser
Artillery: Eggs over easy, crispy bacon, sausages, toast and Tim Horton's coffee

WHAT THEY CALL THEMSELVES
Infantry: Death Techs
Armoured: Cavalry
Artillery: 10 Mile Snipers

WHAT OTHERS CALL THEM
Infantry: Grunts
Armoured: Zipperheads
Artillery: Drop shorts

Hm...

At least you got the 5 first ones right... :D:D

AHOA!!

Going away to have some fun with the 81mm mortar this week!
:m16:

(Hm.. I need some artillery smilies...)

"The Fire is Everything, the rest NOTHING!" :firedevi:

HeeHee

As a former foot slogger, artillery gun slinger, and temporary tank crewman - - -

I'll have you know deluxe cable isn't all it's cracked up to be - I like my eggs scrambled with a little green pepper mixed in - and I prefer my music played in the background instead of at a window rattling volume.

:tank:
Tanks ARE cool - it's better to ride than to walk.

:army:
20 miles is way too long a walk - I'd rather ride on/in the tank.

:drink:
As far as the full combat pack - home IS where the heart is isn't it (and you'd be surprised what you can carry in them nowadays).

:biggun:
TODAY'S MILITARY:
The rifle is too heavy, the tanks aren't big enough or safe enough anymore, missiles are definitely more fun and for most missions more effective than artillery.

Supply huh? Good, I need a new TL-29, mine wore out. You just can't get good hardware anymore, after only 43 years and your gear wears out.

Supply guys might be pansies, but w/o them, maintenance guys (who are probably viewed as pansies as well) couldn't fix you gear (w/ the possible exception of Infantry, but I am willing to bet they maintenance guys in the field for the stuff the need but can't fix), and w/o your gear, you guys would be useless.
