Well the Lancaster is almost completely rebuilt every few years and any thing showing its age is replaced even if they have to make it them self's

There are a number of Lancasters under reconstruction as well.

The New Zealand one is destined to be returned to flying condition and apparently is close to that now if it isn't already (I have photo's of it in the condition it was in when it arrived at the museum and it has come a long way).

Should have mentioned, I work for the people who tested explosives on scale model dam's to help develop the bouncing bomb, although it's changed location, and the name since those days!
