Czechoslovak Army in 1938 and 1968 info

Hi, I would like to know your opinion. What do you think about Czechoslovak Army in 1938 and 1968? Both years had big impact to Czechoslovakia. In both cases army did not get an order to defend our republic. Frankly speaking in both cases we did not have very much chances. But in some literature is written my nation is not very brave. Without respect to mobilisation and determination of thousand of men on our borders in 1938. The only reason we did not fight was political decision. However, maybe your point of view is different. Please let me know.

I think in neither case there was there a realistic chance of Czechoslovak victory and in both instances the repercussions of a prolonged fight would have left many more dead and injured without a change in the final result, I have no doubt that the military would have done what they could had they been ordered to do so but I can't fault a decision that that was made in the best interests of the people as a whole.
