Only those who can afford it. We are talking cost not quality. How many poor people come from abroad for our fabulous healthcare system? Many Americans go to Canada illegally, because its free at least the Canadians take care of their citizens and apparently ours as well. That's just embarrassing.

LA TIMES TODAY: CANADIAN DOCTOR DIAGNOSES AMERICAN HEALTHCARE PROBLEMS

http://www.latimes.com/la-oe-rachlis...,1645187.story

Lesson No. 1: A single-payer system would eliminate most U.S. coverage problems.

Lessons No. 2 and 3: Single-payer systems reduce duplicative administrative costs and can negotiate lower prices.

Lesson No. 4: Single-payer plans can deliver the goods because their funding goes to services, not overhead.

Lesson No. 5: Canadian healthcare delivery problems have nothing to do with our single-payer system and can be fixed by re-engineering for quality.

And here is the crux of the American Healthcare Problem

"American democracy runs on money. Pharmaceutical and insurance companies have the fuel. Analysts see hundreds of billions of premiums wasted on overhead that could fund care for the uninsured. But industry executives and shareholders see bonuses and dividends".

This is exactly why American healthcare SUCKS. Its a business, a very powerful and very profitable one. No Business is going to spent money on good care. They are going to keep profits high while keeping costs low. Take a wild guess how they keep costs low? By providing the cheapest care they can legally get away with. And this is the system that Republicans keep fighting to protect.

I get this question a lot. I am from NYC. I fly a French flag because I work for the Paris Office of a International company.

I would have to say that until there is a 'cap' laid down to control the amount of monies one can access, there will always be greed for more and lowering of standards in other areas such as care.

They can, if it weren't for our little war combined with excessive tax cuts.

I fall in the other 99% of our country's population, however. If we're just going to pander to the rich then I see no reason to stay.

Obama Care? I think I'd rather die of something than be on a socialist health care system.
