In the conference press on one year anniversary of the establishment of AVIC, General manager Hu Xiaofeng said to the journalists that China’s jumbo carrier will have its debut at the end of 2009. Hu said the whole process, including research & development and manufacturing are all accomplished by Xi’an Aircraft Industry Co.,Ltd independently. This will be the biggest military airpalne in China.

Is it just me or does that plane look FAMILIAR?

Are fair wages paid for the work?

This isn't low tech stuff. Their pay is probably pretty good compared to the rest of the country. Actually depending on where you live, labor isn't even that cheap anymore I hear.

Not even the Chinese are stupid enough to copy Russian crap when they can avoid it.

The Chinese violate copy rights on music and movies, why not airplanes? Makes good sense, saving a lot of R & D.

And nuclear missiles.
