To tell you the truth, most AWACs designs look very similar due to the sophistication of the equipment onboard that limits the performance of the aircraft while in flight.

However Russia and Israel made a great deal in the development of these aircraft and under various contracts. So its not a copy.

Most of the information and photos about China's recent military activities is disclosed from Public. Whoever taken this photo obviously have done it illegaly behind a window and escaped unscathed to release this over the internet. Just remember that these photos are not official.
