Take, for example, an illegal alien with a wife and five children.

He takes a job for $5.00 or $6.00/hour.

At that wage, with six dependents, he pays no income tax,

Yet at the end of the year, if he files an Income Tax Return,

He gets an "earned income credit" of up to $3,200 free.

He qualifies for Section 8 housing and subsidized rent

He qualifies for food stamps

He qualifies for free (no deductible, no co-pay)

health care

His children get free breakfasts and lunches at school

He requires bilingual teachers and books

He qualifies for relief from high energy bills

If they are or become, aged, blind or disabled,

They qualify for SSI.

Once qualified for SSI they can qualify for Medicare.

All of this is at the taxpayer's expense

He doesn't worry about car insurance, life
insurance, or homeowners insurance.

He cannot be fired, harassed, or sued.

Tax payers provide Spanish language signs, bulletins, and printed material.

He and his family recieve the equivalent of $20.00 to

$30.00 an hour in benefits.

Working Americans are lucky to have $5.00 or $6.00/hour

Left after paying their bills, and his!

The American taxpayer's also pay for increased crime,

Graffiti, and trash clean-up.

Our fault for ignoring the problem for nearly two decades, so it's not like you can blame the immigrants and punish them without fixing our own problems.

I too would really like this situation to be resolved and have illegals become legitimate and not so dependent on the state, but that's difficult since they're so poor anyway. The longer congress takes to figure out this problem, the more we're going to simmer over this issue with no consensus over how to fix it.

As usual most of the list is entertaining, populistic, antagonistic and doom- thinking is one... but that is okay. But the two above are different IMO:
1) How do you or anyone else know what this "alien" is thinking? He might be worried sick, unfortunatly he can´t afford any of htem.
2) He can´t be fired or harassed? He is probably harrassed emoug hat the crappy job he´s doing anyway. And he can´t be fired? I don´t buy that foir one second, everybody can be fired and so can they!

My questions is this: If he is illegal how can he do this? He has no SSN to run through the system.

On the other hand if you are talking about the illegals that procure an illegal SSN and do this then you are talking a whole different story. Just wanted to clarify that before anyone ripped into you for it.

That was my thought as well. It would seem to me that an "illegal" alien would want to keep as low a profile as possible so why would he file an income tax return? He is likely being paid "under the table" anyway so tax is a moot point. The other benefits an illegal may enjoy are another story. I'd don't know, maybe I'm just not reading the OP correctly.
