Canadian Press - TORONTO (CP) - The Canadian dollar opened at 80.37 cents US this morning, up 0.11 of a cent from Wednesday's close. The U.S. dollar stood at $1.2443 Cdn, down 0.17 of a cent.

Well this is actually good news for Vermont. Canadians are our largest group of tourists and the state's number one industry is tourism. I hope it stays high. Would make it a banner year for Vermont and God knows we need one after last year's disaster - the worst year I can remember and that includes the energy crisis of the '70s. Hopefully Mother Nature will cooperate with us this year.
