Post; Can a Marine be called a soldier???


After a talk with a person from this site. Can you call a Marine a soldier or do you have to call him a Marine??? I mean that when talking abotu being one. i said i want to be a simple foot soldier in the Marines he said i could because Marines are not soldiers.

One CAN call him a soldier, but he probably wouldn't appreciate it. A Marine doesn't go through Marine Corps Boot Camp at a Marine Corps Recruit Depot to earn the title of Soldier. He does it to earn the title of MARINE!

I am locking this before it gets into a junior varsity pissing contest.

But in answer to your question, goalie, a Marine is a USMC servicemember, a Soldier is a USA servicemember.
