A British soldier was killed and two others wounded in a firefight in southern Helmand Province, a day after two NATO soldiers were reported killed in separate roadside bombings. The British death brings the number of NATO soldiers killed in the last week to 12. Of the other nationalities known, eight were Canadians who had been deployed in southern Kandahar and one was an American soldier, killed in the east. Fighting has also been reported in Helmand and Zabul Provinces.
