LONDON, Sept 8, 2006 (AFP) - A British soldier has died from injuries
sustained in an attack in Iraq earlier this week, the Ministry of Defence
said here Friday.

The soldier was wounded in a shooting incident in the town of Al Qurna on
Tuesday, it said.

On Monday, two British soldiers were killed just north of Basra -- the focus
of British forces in the violence-scarred country -- when a roadside bomb
ripped apart their lightly-armoured Land Rover vehicle.
