MY TEEN-AGE son got a job bagging groceries at the Fort McCoy Commissary, where he worked for tips only. Hoping to improve his tipping percentage, he often engaged customers in conversation. One man was telling my son that he had had his ID card since World War II. "No-o!" my son said. "You don't look a day over Vietnam!" He got a good tip.
