IF (that big word again), Bonds goes to trial and is found guilty of perjury and other crimes, his shot at being inducted into the Hall of Fame will be all BUT over.

If Pete Rose can be banned for betting on sports, then Bonds' lying about the usage of performance enhancing drugs, SHOULD carry the same penalty for Bonds.

If/when that happens, it raises one of the strangest situations I can think of ... the spectre of a man setting a baseball record, that WILL appear in Cooperstown (it is a given),
and NOT ever being allowed induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Just like Pete Rose, Bonds will have nobody to blame but himself.
