BAGHDAD, Oct 13 (AFP) - A US soldier was killed by a homemade bomb Thursday
while on patrol in Ad-Dujayl, north of Baghdad, the military said.

The death bring to at least 1,956 the number of US military personnel killed
in Iraq since the US-led invasion of March 2003, according to an AFP tally
based on Pentagon figures.
