The one-seater F-16 Block 52+ jet had been participating in a nighttime training exercise when it crashed Wednesday about 20 miles (32 kilometers) south of Mount Athos, northern Greece, the Air Force said in a statement. The frigate, responding to an emergency call, found the body of the 35-year-old pilot, Flt. Lt. Athanasios Batsaras, and handed it over to the Greek military late Wednesday, the statement said.
