Fails to mention that iran is incapable of imposing anything on the straight of hormuz...
The oath to serve my country as a soldier did not include a contract for the normal luxuries and comfort enjoyed within our society. On the contrary it implied hardship, loyalty and devotion to duty regardless of rank. |

If Iran was smart they would remove any plans for near term direct action and slowly and methodically wait for the Coaltion to leave Afghanistan and the ecnomic stagnation of Western markets to take it's toll. Then move towards regional ambitions once the West is too broke to effectivly respond. Effective economic management and saving Iranian pennies would do wonders to insure their spot as the top regional power in the decades to come. Instead Iran does garbage like this, incure meaningless sancitons that helps no one, and they pretty much have lost the race for regional supremecy already. Considering Iran's dismal ecnomic managment policies in dealing with the international community, in this respect you would almost consider that their economics branch of government was run by Americans.... There will be a dominant country in the Middle East in the decades to come, but at this rate it will never be Iran. They should learn a thing or two about the Chinese "miracle". If they feel going nuclear will be their get out of trying card, then once other countries in the region build their own programs they will be pushed back to sqaure one. ![]() "This conjunction of an immense military establishment and a large arms industry is new in the American experience"- Dwight D. Perhaps Iran is capable to close the Hormuz, if they can keep it closed is another ball game

I still stand by what I said... Our Iranian friend has this silly notion- kinda reminds me of an ant climbing up an elephant's arse with "RAPE" in his (ant) mind... | |

This can prove to be an important card with Iran n i feel iran should keep it for future use. At this point of time thier are more better moves you can go for... A better idea can be just observing the Allied Naval moves in the area n plan manuvers to counter em. In present situation it's otherwise a deadlock, with niether Iranian nor US Navy able provoke any sea conflict and fearing eachother capabilities, with US Navy expecting a series of Irani Missiles striking their Carrier decks and devastating huge fleets and Iranians expecting Number of Bombing Sorties from Carrier Born Aircraft crippling all of their Naval Infrastructure.
