Best Political System info

I was just wondering the specific nation's political system you think is the best in history.

I don't doubt that your country's current system is the likeliest one to be chosen but please consider all the countries in all of history before responding.

Also, don't just give us a one name answer, let's have a full explination on why to go along with it.

God I hope not because if a 2-party system is the best then there really is little hope for humanity!

I have been waiting a long time for this question. This is where my conservation side comes to life! Hypothetical I reckon that a enlighted despot is the best. In times of trouble the Romans appointed a dictator, who could take the hardest of decisions with the least of red tape. He would have to account himself to the senate afterwards.

Here is where to utopia comes in. If you could find somebody who doesn't get corrupted by ultimate power and has enough brains to see all sides of things and open to suggestions...... that would have vote. Alas, just like communism; good idea but it doesn't work with ordinary men...

this theory failed where I marked as Bold, to prevent people from being corrupt we need to supervise them and once you put supervision in place it is no longer an autocracy or dictatorship

I'd rather live in a democracy than living under an autocracy even if the ruler is NOT a capable one!

Sigh, this is going to get me in trouble.

If you strip down Fascist germany, no war, no holocaust, no racism, the core system of government and economics were bliss. Uneployment virtually disapeerd in Germany. So id have to say its the most effective political system.

As for the best, its hard to argue against athenian democracy.
