Post; Aussie Soldiers Do Us Proud

A writer from an Australian newspaper has just returned from Iraq with an interesting article on the situation there and the Aussie soldiers he met.

The Aussies don't get enough press in my opinion but the press is usually only interested in the bad parts of the war. Australia not only has the reputation of fun loving and polite people in Afghanistan and Iraq, but pretty much all over the World.

I work with an Aussie Major. She is a hard worker and a great soldier.

Is anyone here surprised by the fact that he still rips on the Americans?

That said...we love you, Australia!

One problem with the opening line of the Article.

The RAAF Do not have any Rotary Wing Assests. All Rotary Wing aircraft in the ADF belong to various Navy Squadrons, and The 16 (AVN) BDE.

Other than that minor detail, very good article.

good to see us getting some press, would be good if it was a) a decent newspaper b) a decent reporter. Andrew Bolts articles are generally worthless inflamatory P.O.S, so its good to see him attempt to write a normal piece

Yes, I noticed that bit, however he is one of those Aussie commentators who is usually pro-American and defends the Australia - USA alliance against critics. He wrote an article not a long time ago criticising anti-American comments by some Australian and foreign media and politicians.
