| Milforum Moderator ![]() | Post; Army Fields New Neck GearArmy Fields New Neck Gear Week of March 12, 2007 The U.S. Army is fielding 430,000 new helmet pads, officially referred to as Nape Pads, designed to better protect Soldiers' neck areas from ballistic fragmentation. The Army will begin shipping the new protective pad immediately to Soldiers deploying in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. The new neck pad went through a series of rigorous evaluations before the Army began fielding it. | Milforum's Bouncer | Anyone seen this? I'm curious if it is like the ROK riot control helmet's neck protection. I found this picture of the body armor kit, complete, but without the new neck gear. ![]()
