Yes. Basic at Ft. Jackson in July, then on to OCS at Ft. Benning.

Being an OCS grad myself, that's a new one on me. Never heard of anyone going to OCS without AIT.

Is there an OSUT at Ft. Jackson or something?

Well, I have my reservation sheet right here. Basic starts 07/01 and OCS starts 09/06. As it's been explained to me (so it could be wrong), I'll receive my branch assignment at OCS and then have branch-specific training after OCS. |

Yes, you get a branch assignment after OCS, but things must've changed if you can go to OCS now right after basic. In the past you always went to your enlisted school first and usually spent some time in a unit. Today's needs are different, however, and things may have changed.

OSUT at Fort Benning. Ship date: June 21, training starts on July 1. And yes, I am a DEP also. Please note that 98% of what I say is my opinion and/or my "version" of the facts. Most of what I say is rumor with little to no evidence to back it up, just something I picked up somewhere. My City |
