Post; Arab opinion turns to support Hezbollah

At the onset of the Lebanese crisis, Arab governments, starting with Saudi Arabia, slammed Hezbollah for recklessly provoking a war, providing what the United States and Israel took as a wink and a nod to continue the fight.
Now, with hundreds of Lebanese dead and Hezbollah holding out against the vaunted Israeli military for 15 days, the tide of public opinion across the Arab world is surging behind the organization, transforming the Shiite group's leader, Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, into a folk hero and forcing a change in official statements・・・http://www.iht.com/articles/2006/07/....0728arabs.php

This is a crock of shiite. The Arab world made a stab at lip service condeming Hezbollah, while secretly praying that Hezbollah would give Israel (and the United States), a fat lip and a black eye.

What is so surprising about Arab worlds supporting terrorism against Israel and US interests? This is NOT a new news flash ... we have known this for years and years.

Gotta disagree with ya on this one boss.

Its true the arabs have no love for either the USA or Isreal, but that doesnt mean they automatically like Hezbollah. For one think Hezbollah are a Shiite group, the Sunnis and Shiites hate each other as much as they hate Isreal. Just look at Iraq. The Sunni Governements in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan condemned the kidnapping of the soldiers as an act of aggression. It might have stayed that way if Isreal hadnt used such heavy handed tactics.

Every expert I have seen has said the same thing ... certain Arab worlds never actively supported Hezbollah (or) any terrorist group ... however ... the fact remains that they celebrated behind closed doors every time that the US or Israel ended up "with egg on their faces". Neither the US (or) Israel is held in high regard in the Middle East ... almost everybody wishes we would just go home.
