i read somewhere that the scar series of assault rifles are close to being used by special forces? anyone have any info on this or other new rifles for the US?

As far as I know, America is staying the course with the AR-15 family for its infantry. XM-8 got canned. Special Forces do get their new toy, though.

The XM-8 program was scarped because it cost to much money. DoD had to buy new magazines, new equipment, new everything.....

Samething with the JCP. It's now a special operations only project. The military is staying with the Beretta 92FS.

Damn, I really expected the Army to adopt the HK45. It's a nice pistol, though they could've just issed USP Tacticals with rails.
