Do you have any idea how many times I had to re-read that before realizing IF was the title and not just a really big if? My head hurts.

Very Sorry Damien - I assumed the poem was so well known that I skated over it. I thought i would collect a barrage of "Oh no - not that old chestnut!"

Apologies re. the bad head - didn't the poem help?

I found Hitlers Mien Kampf very interesting, and regardless of the Nazi status the man had great thought process, pure evil of course, but thats why he was so dangerous.

Because a lot of what he did was clever and legal at the time.

And like it or not with his rise to power, the history of the world would of being much different. Mainly in the area of medical science.

Much we owe today is to his experiments, without that know we would still be 20 years further back than what we are.

Nazi's have there place in this world, just no one likes to admit it.

And correctly if I am wrong but isn't this the same woman?

Ann Coulter hit the nail right on the head...

Kiwi - I am lost for words. The few that spring to mind I will keep to myself in this case. I wanted to cover my eyes when I read it.

Hitler was nothing but a pathetic loser for his country and humanity.

It's not your fault, I just have this thing about literature (which is just a big word for books :P ) where I don't know anything about it. I read for entertainment, not so much for facts. The good news is when I do have to read something for a class or such it makes it much quicker because I'm self taught in speed reading, which to me is reading 1 in 4 words and getting a pretty general idea where it is going, just enough to throw in one comment in class the next day and sound like I know what is going on.

Great Damien, but do you like the poem. Be very careful here, I'm itching to post it again!

I find it very interesting that she supports a government style like the old days-- the anti-fem type, a government in which she would have no say.

So I still haven't seen any proof that Ann Coulter is a member of the German National Socialist Party. Anyone??

Maybe I am able to see things from a different light DB, many a family member of mine passed through the gates that read "Work Liberates" and never returned.

What Liberates is knowledge and freedom to seek it beyond personal feelings and judgement.

Many of the top pollies around the world has studyed his ways.

Many good things come out of pure evil, its something I don't expect others to understand because due to the grace of god, their families might never have touched by it.

Fear is grown and developed through a lack of understanding, you can't be ruled by either hate or fear, it eats away at your very core.

You forgive solely to keep you sane, but you never forget.

Nice post Kiwi , but I do not agree. I am in the same position as you, I lost 100 family members, and sadly in 1965, when i visited Auchswitz as an onlooker, I was not aware of that. That's where they had ended their lives, from children of 1 year old upwards. I had no idea, until a year or so ago, when my daughter happened to examine the records of that damned place. They had been tulip growers in Holland mostly.

My response to that remained exactly as it was when I was in Auchswitz myself for the first time, as a person uninvolved.

Utter filthy evil. Unforgivable.

And as I have always held, we can allow ourselves to forgive those who wrong us, but in no way can we have the authority to forgive those who wrong OTHERS. That is the prerogative only of the victims.

Furthermore, I refuse to reward the perpetrators with any iota of praise for the diabolical pursuits. And i have no intention of tipping the whipper.

There is no hatred involved on my part, and I have no issue with the Germany of today, but I will not have these issues brushed under the carpet by revisionists ( no accusation intended here) on my watch.

My watch does not have long to run I guess, but until then..................

Hey-ho!
