Austrailia has pledged direct aid to the US for hurricane Katrina: http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems...9/s1452110.htm

In other disasters throughout the world they have also been busy: http://www.ausaid.gov.au/human/emergencies.cfm

http://www.redcross.org.au/ourservic...ry_default.htm

http://www.reliefweb.int/rw/RWB.NSF/...S?OpenDocument

And the rest of the world has not been sitting on their duffs either: http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/wor...302774007.html

My previous post was, as you said, related to military involvement, but still proves my point that Austrailians have not been insensitive to what is going on in the rest of the world.

Cadet Henderson, if you find yourself unable to address other forum members with respect, do not post. You can make your point without attempting to insult others.

If I am asked what we are fighting for, I can reply in two sentences. In the first place, to fulfil a solemn international obligation . . . an obligation of honor which no self-respecting man could possibly have repudiated. I say, secondly, we are fighting to vindicate the principle that small nationalities are not to be crushed in defiance of international good faith at the arbitrary will of a strong and overmastering Power.
