I was wondering is there any alternatives to the American AEW systems in the world, the E-3 sentry is the main one i know of but i think it is getting a bit old now, i had read somewhere the australia was getting an AEW system on an arbus but i dont know if this was true! thanks i am just curious.

There are Russian ones, and the Israeli one...Dont remember the names though. Ill go check....

Here we go...Israeli one callled "Phalcon". Based on 707, with an Israeli made Radar.
There is a Sweedish one called Saab 340 AEW&C.
The Russians had the Ilyushin-38 "May", and the Briev/Ilyuusin A50 "Mainstay".
I assume that there are more, but those are a few. Those are AEW&C planes, but there are other catagories that can be considered as espects of AW.

Im thinking of AEW&C systems with radars like the E3 Sentry, how does the russian system rate-i didnt know they had one!
