This starts to be a bit offtopic and is more about manufacturing technology than chinese weapon systems but all equipment's quality has very straight relationship to the level of manufacturing technology and it's capability.
Actually all chinese made things, except western developed things made in western factories stationed in China. I got a good Nokia handsfree made in China but in Nokia's factory and designed by finns.
China doesn't obey any western ISO -standards, -sertifications or quality control wich primary purpose is to guarantee the level of quality and take all crap out of manufacturing line and isn't let to markets and consumer's hands. That tells enough about chinese quality and manufacturing technology. I know, there is many western corporations in China and they obey all ISO-standards and sertifications and quality control works but those corporations make everything else but don't manufacture weapons for chinese.
I got some own experiments about chinese made weapons for example Norinco made type56, manufactured in 2000 century: Quality 100% crap compared to any western made weapon. Instead of chinese corporations, i can whenever rely to european SAKO's, FN's, SIG's, H&K's or US Colt's and Bushmaster's productions, and when i get one of them my hands, i know i have got first class quality since no of them manufactures or sells crap.
However chinese weapons may look good and modern but was weapon's type what ever, they are made on the same manufacturing lines with the same machines, by the same workers and with the same quality control as my example of type56. For now, chinese quality is far away from western one.
