That we do.
But not socks. Military health authorities back in the early Soviet days decided that the portyanki are more sanitary. Been that way ever since. Such a pain in the ass though, wrapping those things on. If you don't wrap just right, you get blisters on your feet after a day.
I think that's only for conscripts though. Contractors, I believe, are allowed socks.
