The first link was posted here about a year ago, the second link is the news stirring again. I'd like to hear some opinions on this.

Yes, they would, as they are asking to be treated as equals.

I would not mind the "gay loophole" being closed, being that Gay's currently can quit when the going gets tough, just by turning themselves in.

Don't really see a large influx of gays in the military if the rules change. As gays tend to be liberal, and while not necessarily anti-military at least not prone to the military lifestyle.

Let's face it, effeminate gay men are not going to seek combat roles, and "butch" lesbians, still being female, will not be eligible.
