This is a U.S. Springfield .58 caliber model 1861 bayonet from the American Civil War. I was lucky to get this one, it has been treated with tongue oil for preservation....You can still barely make out the U.S. stamp on the shoulder of the blade...which is nearly 20" long.....ouch!!
