Oceana Super Hornet squadron commander relieved of duty by Navy
Sorry if I doubled post this but couldn't find it anywhere. This makes two of these 'lost confidence in the commander’s ability" in a short time. Sorry for the basic question but is this like telling off the boss and you get canned or something worse?
VIRGINIA BEACH
Cmdr. Raymond B. Worthington, the commanding officer of Strike Fighter Squadron 143 at Oceana Naval Air Station, was relieved of duty today, the Navy announced. Capt. Scott Stearney, the commander of Carrier Air Wing Seven, cited the loss of confidence in Worthington’s ability to command.
Cmdr. Jake Elzey has temporarily assumed command of the squadron, which flies the F/A-18E Super Hornet..
Worthington had served as commanding officer since February 2007 and previously was the squadron’s executive officer. He has been temporarily assigned to Commander, Strike Fighter Wing Atlantic.
