Really? Because the military (and the world in general) is just overloaded with the whole "we are better than you"s. Also, if they didn't look at the Australians in this manner, I highly doubt this would have even been mentioned. It's usually mentioned quite often as a complaint. Maybe this was written to counter it because complaints about this sort of attitude are pretty much everywhere.
Soldiers will be soldiers. The last thing I will ever believe is when they say most of the soldiers are respectful. We aren't. Most of us aren't anyway. Whether or not there is a different attitude in Iraq or not, I don't know, but I highly doubt it.
Soldiers are paid to be assh*les.
