Mmarsh I understand that increased demand for meat in developing countries is probably the most important single factor. Feeding grain to animals is far less efficient than eating it directly. However, we come back to population and affluence again. The world can sustain only so many people at the standards we are used to, and the other 5 billion people will want what we have had for decades.
