DelBoy, maybe a letter to your local member of Parliament might be good start, better still go and see him/her.

Have you tried to find out if there are any support groups, and if so offered your assistance or maybe a donation to help defray possible costs? There's a lot you could be doing rather than throwing your hands in the air and picking needless arguments with supporters on here.
