my understanding of this incident that while some SAS troopers were detained by the iraqi police....it wasn't because the were firing on civilians...more that they were acting suspiciously.

the brits used warrior IFV to break them out when they got word that the troopers may be handed over to a militia group

out of this incident came one of the most amazing set of photo's of the war IMO;
