I hated it how when I was in the US as a legal temporary resident the authorities were eyeing me like I was some kind of illegal immigrant, almost as if it was illegal to be a foreigner and at the same time these illegal immigrants were not being kicked out, laws were changing to accommodate them and their children etc. Made me wonder if I was being a sucker by being a legal temporary resident and should in fact hide away in the woods for five years illegally, then turn up to a lawyer's office saying, "HA! I wasn't caught in five years. Now where's my Green Card?" |
